Homeopathic Practitioner • Certified Canine Nutritionist • Reiki Master

Welcome to Wellness Matters!

I'm Brenda Tobin, and if there's one thing you should know about me, it's that I believe every individual has a story worth hearing, whether they have two legs or four!

I'm a homeopathic practitioner working with adults, children, and animals, a certified canine nutritionist, and a Reiki Master. But those credentials only tell you what I've studied. They don't tell you who I am.

I'm a lifelong animal lover, a passionate educator, a curious mind, and someone who's never been afraid to ask questions or challenge conventional thinking. And yes, I've got a sassy side!

I believe the little things matter. The subtle changes you notice in yourself. The toddler who can't quite explain what they're feeling. The teenager who insists everything is fine when you sense something has changed. Or the beloved animal whose behavior tells you something isn't quite right. Sometimes the people closest to us notice things before anyone else does.

And I believe those observations deserve attention.

That's the heart of Wellness Matters: taking the time to listen, asking thoughtful questions, and seeing the individual behind every story

Animals Have Always Had My Heart!

My love for animals started long before Wellness Matters existed.

In fact, I was so passionate about animals growing up that my mother enrolled me in a high school offering an animal science program. Some kids had other interests. Me? I wanted to learn everything I could about animals! And that passion never went away.

Over the years, I've studied canine nutrition, animal homeopathy, and animal wellness. I completed a two-year canine nutrition program, earning a Mark of Distinction award, and developed Ruby's Naturals, my own line of natural treats for dogs, cats, and horses. Animals have never been just a professional interest. They're part of who I am.

My Journey Into Homeopathy

My introduction to homeopathy came in 2000. What started as curiosity developed into a passion for learning and understanding the principles behind this traditional system of complementary care. And when something captures my interest, I don't just dip my toes in. I want to understand it! I went on to study classical and animal homeopathy, including receiving a full scholarship to the British Institute of Homeopathy International's veterinary homeopathy program, which I completed with a 98% grade average. I also earned a certificate in Foundations of Hahnemannian Homeopathy and pursued further education through the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy.

My qualifications include:

  • DiHom — Diploma in Homeopathy

  • D.Vet.Hom — Diploma in Veterinary Homeopathy

  • Cert. C.N. — Certified Canine Nutritionist

  • Reiki Master and Animal Reiki Practitioner

I've also had the pleasure of writing for Dogs Naturally Magazine and teaching educational classes about homeopathy to animal owners. I LOVE teaching others about Homeopathy!

There's something wonderful about sharing knowledge, sparking curiosity, and encouraging people to ask questions they might never have thought to ask before.

What It's Like to Work With Me

Here's something I want you to know before booking a consultation. I take my time. Initial consultations can last up to two hours. And there is a reason for that, because I want to hear the story,  I want to connect the dots and understand the bigger picture.  Not just a quick summary or a list of concerns. I want to understand the individual, discussing your own experiences, concerns about your child, or changes you've noticed in your animal. I'm interested in the history, the routines, the personalities, and the details that make each individual unique.

I ask questions. Lots of them! I listen carefully, and I want you to feel comfortable asking questions, too. Whether we're talking about you, your child, or your animal, my approach is individualized and conversational. I want you to understand what I'm doing, why I'm asking certain questions, and what you can expect from our work together.

I want you to feel heard, comfortable, and involved throughout the process. Because you're more than a name on an appointment calendar, and the people and animals you love are too.

A Little Sass, A Lot of Heart

I'm Not Everyone's Cup of Tea. And That's Okay!

I believe in being straightforward. I'm passionate about my work. What matters most to me is building relationships rooted in kindness, mutual respect, and trust.

If you're looking for someone who will take time to hear you out, explain her approach, and treat you as an individual rather than a number on a calendar, we might be a great fit.

I take my work seriously. Myself? Not quite so much. Life's too short not to laugh along the way!

Adults, Children And Animals Are All Welcome Here!

Wellness Matters offers individualized homeopathic consultations for adults, children, and animals, along with Reiki services and canine nutrition guidance.

And here's some good news: You don't have to live in Michigan to work with me! I'm based in Michigan and connect with clients worldwide through Zoom, FaceTime, and telephone consultations. Whether you're across town or on the other side of the world, we can still connect.

My services do not replace medical or veterinary diagnosis or treatment. I encourage clients to maintain appropriate care with licensed healthcare professionals.

Is Wellness Matters Right for You?

If you've been following my page, watching client interviews, listening to podcasts that I have been featured in, perhaps you've been wondering what it would be like to work together.

Here's what you can expect:

  • A thorough, unhurried consultation - getting to the root of the issue

  • Thoughtful questions and careful listening.

  • Straightforward communication and room for discussion.

  • An individualized approach rather than a one-size-fits-all treatment plan.

I value clients who are curious, engaged, and comfortable asking questions.

Let's Get to Know Each Other!
Whatever brought you here, I'm glad it did.
If you're looking for someone who will listen carefully, welcome your questions, and take a genuine interest in getting to know you or someone you love, we might be a wonderful fit.

Your story matters. Your animal's story matters. And I'm here to listen.
